Heuchera Green Spice
Heuchera americana 'Green Spice'
Trendy Silver & Ruby Shades

A compact growing, evergreen perennial with beautiful foliage in glistening silver with a rich ruby underlay and bold veining. For an eye-catching contrast, its leaf undersides are a rich wine red. In the garden it likes a good, reasonably rich soil which doesn’t get too dry and it will take full sun or dappled shade. Try planting it with silvery green leafed plants, such as the native Euphorbia glauca which has stems in a similar colour to the leaf reverse of the heuchera. Or mingle it with other dark leaf, small foliage perennials, such as the native Geranium ‘Pink Spice’.

For something spectacular and a bit different, plant a big container with ‘Platt’s Black’ flax in the centre, surrounded by Heuchera ‘Prince of Silver’, Geranium ‘Pink Spice’ and one of the purple-pink echeveria succulents. It also looks superb in a pot on its own. Other ideas in the garden include using ‘Prince of Silver’ with yellow hostas in dappled shade.
